Hi. I’m Marine the new private midwife in Launceston providing antenatal, intrapartum (homebirth) and postnatal care. I was born in France to physiotherapist parents. Then we moved to New Caledonia when I was young, so they could serve the indigenous and French community there.
I’ve lived in Australia since 2007 and have been a midwife for over 11 years in Brisbane. I graduated as a midwife at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital in 2014 and have been working in private care midwifery group practice since 2022. I believe in holistic, woman-centered evidence based care and pride myself in providing individualised care that will make you feel safe, supported, empowered and informed. Throughout your journey I aim to build a strong trusting relationship, we work as a team! My approach is grounded in respect for the natural physiology of birth, combined with sound clinical knowledge and a calm, reassuring presence.
I have a 2 and a half year old daughter named Lola who is my absolute world. Becoming her mum has transformed me as a woman but also as a midwife. They say “they grow so fast” and I’ve come to realise there is no truer statement, so I have learnt that motherhood is leaning into change, embracing the beautiful chaos and trusting her and myself through it all, because it truly is magic!
My pregnancy and birthing journey strengthened my belief that continuity of care with a competent, trusting and supportive midwife is absolutely key to making you feel safe during this life changing experience.
After many years of supporting families in Brisbane I am now basing myself in Launceston, Tasmania. This community is where I wish to continue my passionate work as a midwife. If you wish to organise a chat and/or a first meeting, do not hesitate to contact me: marine@thefrenchmidwife.com.au or 0420381480

Hi there, I'm Michelle and I'm an endorsed midwife offering homebirth services to families in and around Launceston.
I've been a midwife since 2016, and I've worked in Melbourne metropolitan hospitals, midwifery group practice, and rural towns in Western Australia before moving to Launceston in 2023. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've had over the years, but my true calling has always been to work in private practice.
I've been a homebirth midwife since January 2025, and I feel truly blessed to be able to get to know and support women through this transformative phase in their lives. Women are the expert of their bodies and the driver in their experience and pregnancy journey - it's such an honour to walk alongside them and watch their families grow.
I can provide all your care from conception, to birth, to 6 weeks postpartum in the comfort of your own home.
If this peaks your interest and you'd like to find out more, all enquiries are welcome. I can't wait to hear from you. michelle@herchoicemidwifery.com.au

Jaimee has been a privately practicing midwife since 2019 and has had the privilege of serving many families through the Launceston Birth Centre over the past six years. She is an experienced childbirth educator and was honoured to be named Australian Midwife of the Year in 2024.
In recent years, Jaimee has expanded her work beyond clinical midwifery to focus on mentoring and supporting other midwives through her business, The Midwives’ Midwife. As a certified relationship coach and experienced educator, she offers 1:1 mentoring for midwives navigating private practice, professional challenges, or burnout. She also facilitates midwifery retreats, seminars, and online masterclasses.
Due to this shift in focus, Jaimee’s availability for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care is limited to returning clients and is subject to availability. However, she continues to offer birth classes and birth debrief sessions by appointment.
